Darrenwhen I connect the power lead the red standby button illuminates however after 5 seconds or so the console turns itself off with no power or light showing. the same is true if I turn the console on the green light shows and the console sounds like it is powering up but after a few seconds the whole machine shuts down.

Katethe xbox was previously jumping when playing any game then would freeze at end of game and now does not read discs although does come up with the disc logo and game extras obviously recognises there is a disc but cannot play say needs the disc cleaning which has been done. happens with any disc so has to be a fault of the xbox. any ideas what it could be can it be repaired and would you know the likely costthank you for you help and I look forward to hearing from you. kind regardspenny deacon
